BENTONITE(ALUMINIUM) HEALING CLAY

Listing description
Bentonite is an absorbent aluminium phyllosilicate, impure clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite. The absorbent clay was given the name bentonite by Wilbur C. Knight in 1898, after the Cretaceous Benton Shale near Rock River, Wyoming in America.
Detailed description
There are different types of bentonite, each named after the respective dominant element, such as potassium (K), sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), and aluminium (Al). Experts debate a number of nomenclatorial problems with the classification of bentonite clays. Bentonite usually forms from weathering of volcanic ash, most often in the presence of water. However, the term bentonite, as well as a similar clay called tonstein, has been used to describe clay beds of uncertain origin.

BENTONITE(CALCIUM) HEALING CLAY

Listing description
Calcium bentonite clay contains calcium, magnesium, sodium and trace amounts of a number of other minerals. The clay is made from volcanic ash deposits that have settled on the earth. Detailed description
The ash has settled over the course of hundreds to thousands of years, which allows a variety of the earth's nutrients to be absorbed. While the absorption process is taking place, clay is formed. Calcium bentonite clay has several purported benefits, including the ability to detox the body by absorbing toxins from the body.

Digestion

Calcium bentonite clay can be used to aid in the relief of gas, bloating and constipation. Irritable bowel syndrome patients who took oral calcium bentonite supplements reported relief from the discomfort and pain associated with the disease, according to the Digestive Tract Research Group. The Singapore Medical Journal also states that taking calcium bentonite acts as a laxative. Other digestive uses include using calcium bentonite as a treatment for metal poisoning, food poisoning and dysentery.
External Uses
Calcium bentonite clay can be used as a compress to help soothe wounds, cuts, muscle damage, bruises and pain associated with carpel tunnel. When preparing a compress from calcium bentonite clay, simply combine the clay with water and mix it until it has the consistency of mud. Once the solution has been mixed, simply apply it to the area that is in pain. Other external conditions that respond to bentonite treatments include rashes, psoriasis and eczema.
Detoxification
When it mixes with water, calcium bentonite swells and becomes inert. Mixing the clay with water and consuming it is frequently used to cleanse and detox the body internally. The clay swells while inside the body, causing toxins to become attracted to it. Once the toxins are attracted, they are absorbed into the clay and passed through the body through the feces. Since the clay is inert, it will not change its structure before passing through the bowels.
Cosmetics
Because of the binding properties of calcium bentonite clay, it is often used in a variety of commercial beauty products. Some of these recipes are used as a treatment for dark circles under the eyes and for deep cleaning facial masks. Because of its ability to draw toxins and dirt from the pores, clay masks are often used as an acne control treatment. Some of the other cosmetic uses for calcium bentonite clay include treatments for blemishes, cellulite, eczema and wrinkles.

BENTONITE(POTASSIUM) HEALING CLAY

Listing description

Also known as potash bentonite or K-bentonite, potassium bentonite is a potassium-rich illitic clay formed from alteration of volcanic ash.
Detailed description

Uses

The main uses of bentonite are for drilling mud, binder (e.g. foundry-sand bond, iron ore pelletizer), purifier, absorbent (e.g. pet litter), and as a groundwater barrier.[2] As of around 1990, almost half of the US production of bentonite was used for drilling mud.[2]

Drilling mud

Bentonite is used in drilling fluids to lubricate and cool the cutting tools, to remove cuttings, and to help prevent blowouts.[2] Much of bentonite's usefulness in the drilling and geotechnical engineering industry comes from its unique rheological properties. Relatively small quantities of bentonite suspended in water form a viscous, shear thinning material. Most often, bentonite suspensions are also thixotropic, although rare cases of rheopectic behavior have also been reported. At high enough concentrations (~60 grams of bentonite per litre of suspension), bentonite suspensions begin to take on the characteristics of a gel (a fluid with a minimum yield strength required to make it move). For these reasons it is a common component of drilling mud used to curtail drilling fluid invasion by its propensity for aiding in the formation of mud cake.

Binder

Bentonite has been widely used as a foundry-sand bond in iron and steel foundries. Sodium bentonite is most commonly used for large castings that use dry molds, while calcium bentonite is more commonly used for smaller castings that use "green" or wet molds.
Bentonite is also used as a binding agent in the manufacture of iron ore (taconite) pellets as used in the steelmaking industry.

BENTONITE(SODIUM) HEALING CLAY

Listing description
It contains a higher amount of sodium. It absorbs a high amount of water, and can expand up to 15 times its volume!
Sodium Bentonite has a high percentage of sodium in the crystal lattice.
Sodium Bentonite is mainly used in industries, as liner material, binders, suspension agents, cement tiles, concrete, wall boards and water-proofing building materials. They are also used in alternative health as an external detoxifier of skin and foot or as a poultice.
Detailed description
Sodium Bentonite absorbs and expands so much more than Calcium Bentonite, that if it is taken internally it could clump up with lack of water and cause constipation.
However it is extremely useful as a sealant in industries because of its very swelling nature.
Anyway the way it is mined for industrial purposes and the high amount of sodium present does not make it a good edible clay.
Some Sodium Bentonite clays are sold as edible clays. As a result of their high Sodium contents the Sodium clay has to be taken with Apple cider vinegar to neutralize the Sodium content. They must also be consumed in small amounts due to the high Sodium content.
But I would not recommend you eat sodium clay, as it absorbs too much water from your intestines, and could make you constipated. You wouldn't want that, right? I definitely do not.
Sodium Bentonite is also mined for industrial purposes, so how hygeinically it is mined is another issue.
It can be used for external clay baths.
